Lifestyle Brand Eastside Golf Looks To Swaggify Golf For The New Generation
If you’ve been around, there’s a good chance you’ve worn Ralph Lauren gear before. The iconic brand is built around the iconic logo featuring a polo player on horseback, adding to the luxury. Now, there is another brand that has come into the world that is centered around another luxury sport, golf. That lifestyle brand is Eastside Golf and it is doing its best to introduce urban youth to the game through apparel.
Eastside Golf was founded by native Atlanta businessman Olajuwon Ajanaku, who has played golf since a child and has won a championship on the collegiate level and competed professionally. The brand’s mission is “to raise awareness about golf among youth and non-golfers.” The promotion of authenticity and diversity while inspiring the culture is also paramount to the brand. According to the official website, “Eastside Golf was designed to make golf more attractive to the younger generation, so they can utilize and apply the morals and values it has to offer in order to better themselves and change their lives. Eastside Golf is also for all people to enjoy the game while rocking our apparel with full confidence.”
Eastside Golf caught my eye because of the logo. Like the Polo logo, it can be iconic in its own right to me. It features a Black man in a hat teeing off while his gold chain swings. It’s very fire to me and perfectly communicates the brand’s mission to make golf appealing to the culture. The brand currently offers sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats and a ball marker/magnet lapel featuring the image. I have my eye on the sweatshirt. It’s gray with a large embroidered patch of the logo on the torso. I’d be all over it if there was a black version, but I understand that the light colors correspond more with what they’re trying to do. Nevertheless, if you want to swaggify golf, this is a great way to go about it.
