Super 7 Reveals Ol' Dirty Bastard, Notorious BIG & Run DMC ReAction Figures At Toy Fair 2020
It’s a goal of mine to make it to the American International Toy Fair in New York one day (one is also held in Dallas). As I said in my previous post, I am obsessed with designer toys and Toy Fair is the largest toy trade show in the Western Hemisphere, according to Wired. All of the exclusives drop during Toy Fair and Toy Fair 2020 was no different. Toy manufacturers put on for their brands by dropping/announcing fire figures for toy fiends to consume.
One of the exhibits that digitally caught my eye as I was scrolling IG comes from Super 7. Yesterday, the “premier pop-culture design house and producer of lifestyle-oriented collectibles, toys and apparel” announced new figures for its ReAction line featuring the likenesses of legendary hip-hop acts. It wasn’t clear if these were all they were doing, but they unveiled photos of figures depicting the Notorious BIG, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Run DMC. Each figure unveiled was a blank canvas leaving the color schemes up to your imagination (for now at least). You can check out the pics below (courtesy of Super 7’s IG account):
Judging from Super 7’s site, their ReAction figures run for around $18 a pop. I don’t see why the hip-hop figures would be any different. There is no date set in stone for their release (judging from the pics of ODB and Run DMC, they still have to get permission to produce them), but they are slated to drop later this year. If they’re priced the way the others are, I’m definitely growing my toy collection.
